oh, hey. it's summer.

4 June 2011

6 months into the year, already? Geez. It’s going too quick. I guess keeping busy will do that.

I mean, it’s summer, and I’ve yet to really enjoy it too much. I spent Memorial Day inside working on posters on my computer, and watching my own marathon of Doctor Who. And today? I turned down* a chance to be an extra in a feature film with Natalie West and Gabby Hoffman to spend the day inside working on drawing scripty letters, creating resume layouts, and rebuilding my portfolio site. (And continuing/finishing my Doctor Who marathon…)

Okay, so I can’t say that I’ve been a complete hermit and haven’t enjoyed the good weather at all. I had my first lp zoo visit of the year with Bryan. And this week I’ve enjoyed the start of free concerts at Millennium Park with two very good concerts: Black Bear Combo and Detholz! — both of whom I know a couple members. Apparently Iron & Wine are having a free concert on Monday… but I’ll be missing it for an AIGA event and class. I might get to check out Lit Fest tomorrow, but I’ve still got a good about of work to not get behind on.

I at least have some summer fun scheduled for my birthday. Or well, near my birthday since one of my classes was rescheduled to that night. And then the quarter will end and I’ll have 3 weeks off to do that whole summer thing (all while participating in my school’s Royal Rumble)… Not sure what I’ll do with myself but I know I will be taking advantage of living mere houses down from the beach.

What are your summer plans? Also, holy crap, Doctor Who? Totally awesome. If you’re not watching it, why the hell not?

*part of that was because of not feeling well, but glad that I was productive if I wasn’t going to be a film star.

  • Finally, another person converted to the amazingness of Doctor Who

    • Erini

dude. I watched ALL of what was on Netflix Instant in a week. would have been less if I didn’t have school and film shoots and homework… oh, and a whole day where my internet decided it hated netflix.

one of my high school friends has been obsessed with Doctor Who for as long as I can remember…
