#reverb10.9: bibbidi bobbidi boo!

I signed up for this thing called #reverb10. A month full of prompts guided to help me reflect on this past year and focus on goals for the next.

December 9: Party.
What social gathering rocked your socks off in 2010? Describe the people, music, food, drink, clothes, shenanigans. (Author: Shauna Reid)

Well, I have a little catching up to do… but I couldn’t let this one slip by…

A girl never forgets her first ball.

I digging back into memories way back at the beginning of the year.  Getting everything ready… what dress?  What shoes?  What mask?

One of my band nerd friends started up Opera-Matic.  The piece featured on the posters was in memory of 3 bicyclists in the city who were killed.  It was a beautiful piece…

…as was the ball.  I was meeting a handful of friends there.  Fellow band nerds.  I went alone, but spent the evening with Andy, David, Josh and his date.  (This was shortly after Josh and I first met.)  There was much talking.  Much people watching.  And very much dancing.

I’m the one in blue… and yes, I’m texting.

There were a lot of people, beautiful outfits.  For the last few hours, I hung out at the bar.  However, rather than throwing them back, I was mixing them up.

I’ve been to a number of parties, and this one set the bar pretty high for the rest of the year.  And well, I can safely say nothing topped it — though Chrissy’s wedding was a lot of fun, as were the variety of Nintendo events (yay book club!) of this year too.

I truly hope Opera-Matic hosts another ball in 2011.  (That or maybe I can get some of them to help me decorate my new apartment…)
