So my June reading was abysmal. Only one book the entire month. And it was a single issue of a comic book. (A really good comic book, but still.)
It wasn’t like I didn’t have things to read. I’ve got a decent stack of TBR (to be read) books. But just the simple busyness of work — and thus spending my evenings or days off in a daze of naps and netflix — well, I just haven’t taken the time or committed the energy to read anything.
But I’m hoping to change that, partially by the fact that I picked up some new books that I’d been waiting for. So the anticipation should hopefully get these reading habits back on track. But I’ve still got a nice, long TBR list to go through… It’d be nice to make it through most of these before I spend too much more money on new books.
Return of the King – J.R.R. Tolkien – Have to finish Two Towers first though!
Silevethiel – Andi O’Conner – I received this from originally as an eARC, but the format was completely broken on the ebook, so I couldn’t read it. After hearing about this, the author actually contacted me and sent me a print copy of the book. I just haven’t gotten around to reading it yet.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Particular Children – I made the mistake of getting this digitally, and was told it’s much better suited for print. Might explain why I never went past the first chapter.
Summer Falls – James Goss – Bought this because it’s a tie-in to Doctor Who… but never got around to it.
Endless – Amanda Gray – an eARC I never got around to.
Catch a Falling Star – Kim Culbertson – again, eARC.
Grave Mercy – Robin LaFevers – eARC
Frozen (Heart of Dread #1) – Melissa de la Cruz – yet another eARC
As Red as Blood – Salla Simukka – Thanks to my prime membership, this was free. But I was intrigued by it since it’s an English translation of a Finnish YA novel. And given my Finnish heritage and interest in YA series… yeah, hoping I really like this one.
These last 6 are ones I bought this weekend. Which, I felt a little guilty because as you can see, I had some good books on my TBR… Mostly it’s just me being a picky reader. But here’s to getting over that and diving into the amazing world of books again! (But which to pick first?!)
What’s on your TBR that’s just been waiting and waiting for you? What are you looking forward to reading next?
